The "CTBC Painting Prize" was established with the aim of nurturing talented, innovative artists from the younger generation and onwards. It is held biennially, allowing for a longer period of time to cultivate diverse and distinctive contemporary painting creations. In its first edition in 2021, a total of 790 works competed for the award. The jury carefully selected 20 pieces that reflect the significance of the era, and these works were exhibited at the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts.

Based on the enterprise spirit of "We are Family," the concept of "home" is extended in a broad sense, giving rise to the idea of Habitat, the notion of the "original place." Revolving around the theme of "coexistence," the created content can encompass the bonds of family, love for the land, reflections on contemporary life, interpretations of Taiwan's natural landscapes and urban scenes, observations of remote regions or societal issues. By encouraging free interpretation of the theme, we aim to inspire young Taiwanese artists to develop in the direction of international language, contemporary spirit, and diverse creativity, presenting their personal observations and aspirations for the environment they inhabit.
